The trip of a lifetime! We went on a trip with Jose through Zaney Travel in February, a great time to visit Costa Rica. My dad and I requested to fill our itinerary with as many activities as possible and Jose reached far beyond our expectations. We were doing 2-3 activities per day, with top-notch tour guides. We went hiking, horseback riding, ATVing, zip lining, kayaking, snorkeling, and SO much more. Jose had so many stories to share and knew a lot about the country’s history and wildlife. We really got a great feel of the country’s culture traveling with Jose and it was the trip of a lifetime.

Trip of a lifetime From the moment we started planning our trip with Jose he became our friend. Throughout our 15 days he guided us through Costa Rica’s culture and history. His vast knowledge was impressive. We visited Arenal, Monteverde and Jaco. He accompanied us as we experienced seeing volcanoes, the cloud forest, beaches, waterfalls , wildlife and local cuisine. We spent a day on a catamaran and several beaches. He reserved our hotels, booked our excursions, and drove us around. He made the trip so much easier and by having him with us we saw so much more and learned a tremendous amount. AMAZING TRIP WITH JOSE FROM PASSPORT ADVENTURES!! Jose Mendez was our tour guide for our first trip to Costa Rica (May 2022). We did not have to worry about driving, hotel transfers, local tours or where to eat. Jose knows all the best places and entertains you with Costa Rica’s history and culture along the way (with quite a few funny jokes along the way!)Our three favorite day trips organized by Jose were: 1. A fantastic nature tour of Manuel Antonio Park with Socio, who is a genius and knows everything about all the animals in the park;2. An awesome tour of a cacao farm, at La Mona Golosa, with the owner Diego. We roasted cacao beans, ground them up, and had many choices of delicious additions to include in the chocolate tastings; and 3. Super fun hike at Arenal 1968 park to see the lava from the Arenal volcano and the gorgeous views from the top. We had a spectacular visit to Costa Rica, and we highly recommend Jose for any trips to Costa Rica!

Trip of a lifetime We traveled for a week with Jose throughout the Arenal Volcano area, Jaco, and Manuel Antonio National Park. Jose quickly became not only a guide, but a friend too. Amazing. The bird walk Jose took me on was amazing. I saw 32 toucans. If you go to Costa Rica, you need to have Jose as your concierge. He is incredibly responsive to your needs, he knows everyone and will get you the best experience from seeing crocodiles, rafting, hikes or restaurants. He is the best. The MOST AMAZING TIME I don’t know how to even began explaining the amazing trip that I was taken on. Jose literally drove us everywhere! And he said yes to everything that we wanted to do, He always advised us on the best routes possible to save us time all the while he was able to show us the beautiful scenery A Costa Rica. He even at one point took us to a spa and when we decided we wanted to bike back into town to see the beautiful coast of Porta Viejo, Jose had bikes ready for us as we finished up our massages. I can’t explain the amount of information this man knows about this country and many neighboring ones. I would recommend you booked him If you wanted to be treated like royalty while also learning so much and getting to experience so much!
